Dopo la puntata introduttiva sul tema del file sharing, prendiamo in analisi il caso Napster: un programma che deve molta della sua fama all'introduzione di un'interfaccia di ricerca più semplice ed un'architettura centralizzata.

Napster durò solo due anni in seguito a varie cause da parte di musicisti e della stessa RIAA per violazione delle norme sul copyright; dopo di lui sono venuti vari altri client tecnicamente simili. Nella prossima puntata parleremo invece di quei client che, a partire dal fallimento legale di Napster, hanno sviluppato le tecniche di ricerca distribuita.
